Steve has over 40 years of domestic and international finance experience and has worked extensively in the private sector for major U.S. financial and public accounting institutions, including U.S. Bank and Price Waterhouse. Steve was the CFO at Mercy Corps, a $500 million in revenue international NGO providing humanitarian relief and development in 45 countries. While serving as CFO, Steve was board chair of XacBank in Mongolia, one of the most successful microfinance organizations in Asia.
Steve is the past board chair and current shareholder of MiCRO SCC, an international reinsurance company that was created to offer natural catastrophe microinsurance solutions to vulnerable populations in developing countries in Latin America. Steve is also a board director at AFK, a major microfinance bank in Kosovo.
Steve received his MBA in Finance from the University of California at Irvine and his BA in Political Science from Brigham Young University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Treasury Professional. Steve has lived overseas, both in Samoa and Singapore.
