Edward Charles Horton is a retired Certified Public Accountant who enjoyed a 45-year career in the world of public accounting. In his professional career, Ed was a partner in the Accounting and Advisory firm of Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP where he was the managing partner of the New Jersey office and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Prior to that time, Ed was the Founder and Managing Partner of Horton & Company, LLC. Over the span of his career, Ed provided a variety of accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services to a diverse client base. His industry experience included a variety of professional service firms, as well as clients in financial, construction, and information service industries. In retirement, he occasionally provides consulting services through Citrin Cooperman on a limited part-time basis.
Ed serves on various boards and audit committees, including as a Trustee of the Magna Carta Trust in England, the Joseph Campbell Foundation Endowment Trust, the John Quincy Adams Foundation, and the South Pacific Business Development Microfinance Institution. In his spare time, Ed is an amateur genealogist who has authored numerous genealogical studies that have been published in The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, The Mayflower Descendant, The Genealogist, and elsewhere.
