Mark Talbot Headshot

Director, SPBD Solomon Islands

Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Mark is an experienced Board Advisor & virtual CFO. Originally from the UK, Mark has lived in New Zealand since 1999, following six years working in the offshore investment fund industry in Bermuda. Mark has spent the majority of his time in New Zealand working with growth focused companies involved in a range of industries, including technology, fashion, hospitality and environmental impact.

In 2006 Mark and his wife Claire travelled to Samoa to see the operations of MicroDreams’ partner, SPBD Samoa. They found it both humbling and inspiring to visit several villages and to witness firsthand what the project means to the women involved and the significant impact on their day-to-day lives.

In addition to working full-time and serving as a Trustee of the MicroDreams Foundation NZ, a Director of South Pacific Business Development Microfinance (Solomon Islands) Limited and a Member of the South Pacific Business Development group-wide Audit Committee, Mark is also Chairman and Trustee of the Big Buddy Foundation, a New Zealand not-for-profit providing mentors to fatherless boys.
