SPBD is a network of microfinance organizations working in Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and the Solomon Islands dedicated to eradicating poverty by empowering women in poor rural villages with the opportunity to start, grow and maintain sustainable, income generating micro-enterprises.

Ajay has over 22 years of experience working with leading international banks and financial services institutions in India and international geographies. In the last 5 years he promoted a microfinance company in India, with 168 branches and over 400,000 customers which won several awards including Commitment to Improved implementation of Good Governance at the Microfinance Recognition Awards in Washington D.C. He pioneered the launch of GPRS enabled mobile technology for financial inclusion and has visited and studied microfinance operations in Latin America, (Bolivia, Peru) South Asia Pacific (Philippines and Indonesia) and East Africa (Kenya).

Ajay has pioneered Social Impact Programs such as Financial Literacy Program for Women. Other major assignments include setting up retail banking operations in Eastern Europe; and developing businesses from ground-up across financial verticals.

Ajay is a member of Bank’s Risk advisory team, he provided consultancy on program lending for retail and SME products specifically related to setting up of risk management organizations, credit cycle management, MIS and scoring.

Ajay holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Jodhpur, India , and MA in Economics from the University of Rajasthan, India. He has extensive experience working with disenfranchised women, business development, and risk management in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis and golf.
